Marshalls Pasta win at Aintree

49th Eddie Soens Memorial Cycle Race, Aintree Race Course

Marshalls Pasta junior Joshua Edmondson won the handicap event around 30 laps of the 1.64 mile (2.65km) motor racing circuit within the famous National Hunt race course.

Going in to the penultimate lap the Motorpoint Marshalls Pasta riders Steven Burke, Jonny McEvoy, Andy Tennant and last year's winner Ed Clancy came to the front, leading Edmondson out for the sprint finish.

"It was crazy for the last two laps." said Edmondson. "They got me in to position. You couldn't get anyone better really, could you? Ed (Clancy) pretty much carried me around most of the time making sure I didn't get too far back. Yeah, it was epic."
