British Circuit Race Champion, Ed Clancy, won the Blackburn round of the Elite Circuit Series last Wednesday. Clancy was in the action all night on a twisting circuit of cobbles and cobbles, sprinting to the finish ahead of Graham Briggs (Rapha Condor Sharp) and his teammate, Dean Downing.
After the race, Clancy was quick to thank his teammates, especially Jonny McEvoy, for their help in his victory on a circuit he really enjoyed racing on. Johnny came in 5th, and with Malcolm Elliott 6th and Pete Williams 7th, that made it 4 in the Top 10 for Marshalls Pasta. It must be all that pasta!
Wednesday's success was followed on Sunday with a nail-biting race in the shadow of York Minster in which Dean Windsor of Rapha Condor Sharp won in a sprint finish. Motorpoint Marshalls Pasta rider Pete Williams had led the race in a solo breakaway for what must have been half the race before being caught by the peloton.
Johnny McEvoy was Marshalls' best placed rider, coming in 4th after being narrowly beaten to a podium spot by Dean Downing of Rapha.
The series concludes in Preston on 8th August. Meanwhile, the Marshalls boys will be in Richmond on Sunday for the final race in 2010's British Premier Calendar.
