Marshalls Pasta and upwards of 10,000 runners enjoyed glorious weather at the Great Edinburgh Run on Sunday 2nd May.
Thousands of people turned out to support the runners in what was to be one of the largest and most successful races to date. In addition a record 1,200 children also participated in the 1.5km mini run and 2.5km junior runs.
Four lucky Marshalls Pasta prize winners from a competition on Radio Forth were also able to race and look the part too in their Marshalls Pasta branded running vests and caps.
The event took the runners, past city landmarks such as the Scott Monument and the Palace of Holyrood, where Her Majesty the Queen had given special permission for the finish line of the race to be located.
The event had a carnival atmosphere with pipe bands and thousands of supporters lining the route.
However, the focus of activities on the day was in Holyrood Park and the athletes village where the Marshalls Pasta team were sampling energy giving Marshalls Pasta pots to hungry athletes and their families.
A virtual non-stop queue of people all day long, helped of course by repeated mentions on the public address system by the official announcer, ensured that a few thousand people enjoyed a hot energy giving Marshalls Pasta pot.
All in all a great success for everyone taking part in the event.
